The Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio hosted their annual Juneteenth Celebration this past Thursday at their Avondale location. A number of vendors and free food at food trucks were on hand to the enjoyment of the hundreds of people, young and old. There were t-shirt painting, chances to win Cincinnati Reds tickets, Cincinnati Music Festival tickets , Kroger coupons give aways and much more. Radio talk show host Lincoln Ware , was broadcasting his show live and the Cincinnati Fire Department brought their safety house . Specialist Ayisha Jones instructed a group of kids what to do in case of a stove fire and firefighter Tiron Jones spoke with his group on what to do if smoke fills a room you are in and how to get out.
There was information handed out from the Center for Closing The Health Gap, YMCA, Altev Pharmacy and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Unban League’s President and CEO Christie Kuhns and staff are to be commended for a successful celebration.
